Coach Daffron believes they can wrap up baseball tryouts no later than Monday March 10th. As a result we will have the Mandatory Parent Meeting on Tuesday March 11th beginning at 6:00 PM in the High School. The exact room has not yet been determined and we will notify you as soon as we have the room.
The purpose of the Parent Meeting is for the coaches to share information about the season, expectations, review the code of conduct, etc. as well as for you to be able to ask questions of the coaching staff. You and your son will be expected to sign the code of conduct agreement as well as any travel approval forms that may be necessary so please remember to bring a pen.
We will be selling Spirit Wear at this meeting as well. You will be able to view the examples and place your order which should be received within a few weeks. We will only accept cash or checks for Spirit Wear orders so please bring your checkbooks.
We will also be selling advertisements in our memory book. There will be forms to collect the basic information required that you can fill out.
We will also be passing out tickets to each player for the Cardinals/Cubs game on Sunday April 13th. Freshman players are expected to sell 10 each, JV players 15 each, and Varsity players 20 each, all priced at $27.00 each. You will have two weeks to sell the tickets before we recollect them. We'll ask for a parent to volunteer to help coordinate between people who need more tickets and those who need help selling them for each team.
This years players fees will be slightly lower than last year. Player who will be going on the Florida trip over spring break will be charged a fee of $400.00 each (down from $450 last year). All players who will not be attending the spring break trip will be charged $100.00 each. Typically all varsity players will be traveling on the trip and Freshman/JV teams will not be. If there are Juniors on the JV team this year, those Juniors will also be going to Florida as well. The basic $100.00 fee is to cover the cost of uniforms, practice wear, hats, etc. The addition fee for those traveling on the spring break trip is to cover the additional costs of the trip. Again, we will only be able to accept cash or checks for the players fees.
All of those who exceeded selling 10 or more calendar lottery chances will receive 25% of your gross tickets sales off of your players fees as promised. Also, anyone who sells advertisements (personal or professional) for the memory book is eligible to earn 25% off their players fees as well. These will need to be paid back to you at a later date.
Please mark your calendars for next Tuesday at 6:00 PM and I look forward to seeing you all there. Good luck during tryouts!
